2017 has been a full and varied year for me. From Pride marches in Birmingham...

To a pro-Cannabis protest in Cardiff...

Counter protests against Britain First in Bristol...

A heat wave seen in Barry in Wales and Jeremy Corbyn on the campaign trail in Telford...

A vigil in Manchester following the terror attack in Manchester...

Protests against Donald Trump seen in Cardiff and Hereford...

Some local sport...

And this Autumnal shot taken in Leominster, my highest earning image of the year!

Time to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped enable me on my assignments this year and to all you wonderful people who follow my work and provides support. Look forward to seeing you in 2018 and whatever it may bring!!!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

May Fair 2017 - Leominster, Herefordshire.

Leominster, Herefordshire. 27th April 2017. Between 1199AD and 1350AD about 1500 charters were issued in England for towns to hold markets and fairs. Recorded as far back as 1282AD, Leominster continues like many other market towns to host an annual fair, continuing the ancient tradition.
Danters Fun Fair runs fairs in Leominster and Ledbury at the same time, which then meet up and travel to the city of Hereford.

Forthcoming Faces in Focus exhibition.

Artwork: Rafi Spanks, Photo credit: Emily Garthwaite
Thrilled to announce that my work with Muhammed, the young Syrian boy who was tragically maimed during the conflict in Syria, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year, will be part of an exhibition in the UK hosted by a new venture called Faces in Focus. It will feature 15 photographers representing 15 charities.
Faces in Focus are; "... a growing network for photographers and charitable organisations to tell the stories that matter to the people who care.
Our work features the lives of those supported by charities and organisations around the world. From Syria to Sri Lanka, Colombia to Calais, our work spans an eclectic mix of people and cultures.
Through selling prints, direct donations, or signing up to volunteer, we provide a conduit to invest in the futures of those on both sides of the lens."

The exhibition will be held at The Tabernacle, Notting Hill, London.

Pictures by Muhammed

When I first met Muhammed he was rather taken with my camera equipment, I couldn't resist and let him use one of Nikon DSLR's.

These are his pictures...
